Biography

Jonathan Gill, a New York native, graduated with honors from SUNY Oswego in 1985. He then earned his J. D. degree from Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in 1988. He was granted admission to the New York State Bar in 1989, and is also authorized to practice before the United States District Court [Southern, Eastern Districts]. Mr. Gill served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Bronx District Attorney’s Office from 1988 to 1997. During his tenure, he held positions as a Senior Trial Attorney in the Major Offense & Homicide Trial Bureaus, as well as Deputy Director of Litigation Training for newly hired ADA classes. In his role as a Major Offense & Homicide Assistant, Mr. Gill conducted more than fifty jury trials in State Supreme Court with a conviction rate of 96%. These trials encompassed homicide and high-profile cases involving seasoned criminals and required expert witness examination in various fields such as neurology, orthopedics, cardiology, trauma surgery, pathology, crime scene and accident reconstruction, ballistics, and identification of controlled substances. As Deputy Director of the Trial Training Bureau, he contributed to the development and implementation of comprehensive training programs in both basic and advanced trial advocacy, covering all facets of criminal litigation. Between 1997 and 2004, Mr. Gill served as a Senior Trial Associate at Creedon & Associates, under the management of Mr. Creedon, and also as a staff counsel trial attorney for The Travelers Insurance Company. In his capacity as a Major Case Senior Trial Attorney, he meticulously prepared and litigated high-stakes personal injury cases involving fatalities or severe injuries. Additionally, as the Subrogation Team Leader, Mr. Gill established, expanded, and oversaw all operations related to Major Case Property, Auto, and Worker’s Compensation subrogation lines—from initial intake and investigation to litigation, trial, arbitration, or settlement. He was also actively involved in responding to catastrophic fire, water, building collapse, and airliner crash property losses.
