Biography

Richard C. Bell has been practicing law in New York City since 1982. In 1986, he established his own legal practice specializing in personal injury and medical malpractice, and he has operated this practice ever since. He advocates for clients in cases arising from negligence, such as car accidents, workplace accidents, medical malpractice, and more. Mr. Bell manages all aspects of his cases, from the initial inquiry to reaching a settlement or trial outcome. His drive stems from a genuine care for his clients and a commitment to securing the compensation they are entitled to, while ensuring accountability for those at fault. While he is a formidable trial lawyer, he interacts with his clients with dignity and empathy, recognizing the personal challenges they are facing.

Throughout his career, Mr. Bell has handled numerous high-profile cases that have been featured in various media outlets, including THE DONAHUE SHOW, WINS RADIO, WMCA RADIO, NEW YORK TIMES, DAILY NEWS, NEW YORK POST, THE STATEN ISLAND ADVANCE, JET MAGAZINE, NEW YORK LAW JOURNAL, THE NEW YORK JURY VERDICT REPORTER, and the ATLA LAW REPORTER. Mr. Bell not only prioritizes the interests of his clients but also actively contributes to the community. He has dedicated significant time to pro bono work, including representing the estate of a 9/11 victim before the Federal September 11th Victim Compensation Fund through the Trial Lawyers Care organization. Additionally, he has been honored by the New York Firefighter’s Burn Center Foundation for his pro bono efforts.

Mr. Bell is deeply invested in issues related to voting rights and has served as a member of the New York Democratic Lawyers Council – Minority Voting Rights Committee. He has also served as a pro bono attorney for several years, assisting individual voters on Election Day in New Jersey to obtain court orders overturning decisions by election poll officials that denied their right to vote. Furthermore, he has provided guidance to voters at polling locations in Cleveland, Ohio, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania regarding their voting rights.
