Biography
My legal practice is centered around matters related to business law, financial transactions, debt structures, restructurings, insolvencies, and global business dealings. I possess a comprehensive knowledge of business law and financial distress issues, both domestically and internationally. Throughout my career, I have represented clients in significant bankruptcy cases such as Refco, Lehman Brothers, the City of Detroit, and PG&E. I offer strategic counsel to financial institutions on legal documentation and risk mitigation. I assist creditors and business partners in navigating the intricate legal landscapes surrounding commercial transactions, leases, financing agreements, investment instruments, and complex financial transactions. I have been instrumental in advocating for parties involved in major insolvency proceedings. I have delivered presentations at prestigious legal and industry forums, including ALI-CLE, the American Bar Association, the American Bankruptcy Institute, the International Insolvency Institute, and various other professional associations. Serving as a Uniform Law Commissioner, I actively participated in shaping recent revisions to the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). Chambers USA has acknowledged my expertise in the UCC, noting that I possess unparalleled knowledge in this area of law.
