Biography
Lorna J LaMotte completed her legal studies at St John’s University School of Law in 1996 following her BBA in accounting from the City University of New York, Baruch College. Lorna commenced her legal journey as the Staff Attorney at Budget and Credit Counseling Services (BuCCS), a non-profit credit counseling agency. Lorna led the consumer bankruptcy division, a distinctive initiative authorized by the State of New York to offer pro-se legal services to consumers. During her tenure at BuCCS, she amassed extensive experience assisting consumers facing financial challenges, guiding them towards the relief and fresh start outlined in the Bankruptcy Code. In 2005, Lorna established her private practice and continued her dedication to aiding consumers in navigating the bankruptcy process, enabling thousands of individuals and families to attain enduring financial stability.
