Biography
Adrienne Woods established her law practice, Woods Law Firm, in 2013, with the aim of offering comprehensive legal guidance in matters related to bankruptcy. She advocates for both individuals and businesses in navigating chapter 7, chapter 11, and chapter 13 of the Bankruptcy Code. Her expertise extends to representing creditors of insolvent debtors, whether it involves asserting claims against the estate, defending avoidance actions, safeguarding contract and lease rights, enforcing obligations, or negotiating lease and contract interests. Adrienne is dedicated to providing creative and strategic counsel to help clients achieve their personal and business objectives. The breadth of her practice encompasses bankruptcy litigation, asset transactions (including distressed asset sales and acquisitions), restructurings, and liquidations under chapters 7, 11, and 15 of the Bankruptcy Code, as well as appeals of bankruptcy court decisions. She also offers guidance to clients contemplating bankruptcy, outlining the potential implications of such a filing. With over 16 years of experience in bankruptcy law, Adrienne has represented debtors and creditors across various industries, including but not limited to homeless shelters, oil and gas, airlines, fitness centers, entertainment, consumer goods, retail, alternative energy, health supplements, casinos, real estate, and healthcare. Her legal career commenced as a law clerk to the Hon. Alan L. Gropper, a former United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Southern District of New York. Following her clerkship, Adrienne honed her skills at two top-ranking law firms, specializing in creditors’ rights, representing a chapter 7 trustee, and engaging in complex financial restructurings. Since founding her firm, she has broadened her scope to include advocacy for individual and business debtors. Earlier in her professional journey, Adrienne served as a Bankruptcy Legal Analyst at Bloomberg Law.
