Michael is recognized as an expert in commercial and consumer bankruptcy law, holding certification from the American Bankruptcy Board of Certification. He is licensed to practice law in New York State and is admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern, Eastern, and Northern Districts of New York, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. His primary focus is on representing debtors and trustees in bankruptcy cases involving liquidations and reorganizations. Michael has been honored with the President's Award for Pro Bono services by the New York State Bar Association in 1989, 1993, and 2007, as well as the Distinguished Service Award from the Legal Aid Society of Northeastern New York in 1989. He is a member of the Empire Counsel Group of the New York State Bar Association.
