Biography

Scott T. Dillon serves as an Associate within the Bankruptcy division at Tully Rinckey PLLC. Scott's legal practice is primarily focused on bankruptcy litigation, encompassing Chapter 7, Chapter 13, and Chapter 11 proceedings. Prior to joining Tully Rinckey PLLC, he held positions as an Associate at a prominent Capital Region law firm and a prestigious International AMLAW 100 Firm based in New York City. Throughout his career, Scott has represented a diverse range of clients including secured lenders, debtors, trustees, and creditor committees in both consumer and commercial bankruptcy cases across the northeastern United States. He has also provided legal counsel to national financial institutions. Scott possesses extensive courtroom experience, having represented clients in U.S. Bankruptcy Courts, U.S. District Courts, and N.Y.S. Supreme Courts. In his practice, Scott has guided individuals and businesses through all stages of the bankruptcy process. He is adept at handling various bankruptcy-related disputes such as fraud-based and preference actions, claim disputes, non-dischargeability actions, mortgage and lien stripping on residential properties, professional retention, fee applications, relief from automatic stay, objections to confirmation and plan modification, as well as negotiating and drafting forbearance and recapitalization agreements. Additionally, Scott has international experience, having represented a creditors' committee with over 60,000 creditors in an international bankruptcy matter involving UK-based businesses. Scott earned his Juris Doctor from Touro College, where he also served as the Senior Editor of the Touro Law Review. He received Academic Achievement Scholarships and Academic Merit Scholarships during his academic tenure and was honored with C.A.L.I. Awards for Academic Excellence in Legal Methods I, Legal Methods II, and Federal Income Tax. Scott completed his undergraduate studies in Finance and Business Administration at Wagner College. He has contributed to the publication titled "Restructuring Sovereign Debt" in The Law of International Insolvencies and Debt Restructurings by Oxford University in 2006.
