From 2003 to 2013, he was a partner at the legal practice of Young & Bartlett, LLP, a firm specializing in Criminal Defense, Civil Rights, and Personal Injury cases. He spent over a decade working at the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office, initially as a trial attorney in the Superior Court Trial Division, and later as the Chief of the Bias Crimes Unit. Mr. Bartlett has conducted training sessions on hate crimes for law enforcement agencies and collaborates with community groups and educational institutions to promote the accurate identification, reporting, and investigation of hate crimes. He is a co-founder of SAFE PASSAGE, a program that introduces legal concepts and policy issues to young people in educational settings, and frequently delivers talks on human rights and peaceful conflict resolution. Mr. Bartlett was a member of the Advisory Board of the Westchester Holocaust Education Center, where he contributed to the creation of an educational program aimed at young individuals possibly involved in non-violent hate crimes in Westchester, New York, and neighboring areas.
