Biography
With over twenty six years of experience in the legal field, Mr. Santos has dedicated the majority of his career to advocating for employees. He has effectively represented numerous clients in New York's state and federal courts, as well as before various administrative bodies such as the EEOC, the New York State Division of Human Rights, the New York City Commission on Human Rights, and the U.S. and N.Y.S. Departments of Labor. His legal practice focuses on assisting individuals in employment law and civil rights disputes, including mediations and arbitrations related to unlawful discrimination, harassment, and retaliation in both private and public employment settings, as well as in housing and public accommodations cases. Attorney Santos also handles wage and hour claims, unfair competition matters, and federal, state, and private whistleblower litigations under statutes like the NYS Whistleblower Law, the False Claims Act, and the NYS and NYC False Claims Acts. Additionally, he has a track record of success in representing clients in complex federal and New York state court cases, which may involve allegations such as defamation of character, tortious interference with contractual relations, and breach of contract. A significant part of Mr. Santos's legal practice involves advising and representing small to medium-sized businesses in employment and labor issues, including defense against state and federal agency enforcement actions, investigations, and audits conducted by the NYS and U.S. Departments of Labor. When he is not practicing law, Mr. Santos enjoys reading, staying informed on current events and politics, indulging in music, and playing the guitar.
