Biography

Fausto E. Zapata, Jr., has a strong commitment to advocating for the rights of workers that spans many years. During his time as a university student, he championed worker's rights as a Shop Steward at a Hospital. While pursuing his education at The Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York City, he gained experience as a summer Associate at a well-known law firm specializing in union-side Labor and Employment law. Additionally, he actively participated in the AFL-CIO Lawyers Coordinating Committee Minority Outreach Program. Upon completing his law degree in 2002, he served as an Assistant General Counsel at District Council 37, AFSCME, AFL-CIO, General Counsel's Office. In this role, he handled a diverse range of labor and employment issues, including administrative trials and hearings, government investigations, state and federal litigation, and improper practice charges. Subsequently, Mr. Zapata established The Law Offices of Fausto E. Zapata, Jr., with a focus on advocating for employees, labor unions, and individuals facing discrimination.
