Biography
Victor S. “Vik” Vilkhu has extensive experience in matters related to creditor’s rights, litigation in court, and criminal defense. Vik has appeared before trial courts across New York and all four Federal District Courts in the State of New York. Serving as the firm’s primary trial lawyer, he possesses broad expertise in overseeing and conducting bench and jury trials as well as hearings. Vik manages all the firm’s complex litigation proceedings in New York's State and Federal courts. Additionally, Vik holds the position of Chair for the firm’s Technology Committee and serves as the Chief Information Security Officer. He oversees all information technology acquisitions and ensures regulatory compliance. Prior to joining Relin, Goldstein, and Crane LLP., Vik worked as an Assistant District Attorney at the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, where he handled felony cases. His responsibilities included initiating cases, trial preparation, jury selection, and securing verdicts on behalf of the People of the State of New York. Vik earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Emory University in 2001 and a Juris Doctorate degree from Case Western Reserve University in 2005. During his time in law school, Vik received the prestigious William Wallace Award for outstanding trial advocacy skills in his graduating class. He also held the position of President of the school’s award-winning Trial Team and was honored with the CALI award for excellence in Contracts and Trial Technique. Following graduation, he was inducted into the Order of Barristers, a national honorary society that recognizes exceptional abilities in oral advocacy and legal writing. Vik is affiliated with the American Bar Association and the Monroe County Bar Association. He is licensed to practice law in the State of New York and in the Western, Southern, and Northern Federal district courts of the state.
