Biography
Christopher Marlborough is the creator of the Marlborough Law Firm. He is deeply committed to advocating for employees in cases of wage theft. Chris achieved a bachelor's degree from State University of New York at Purchase with high honors. He then went on to earn a law degree from Brooklyn Law School, also graduating with high honors. Chris has been practicing litigation since 2004, with a focus on handling intricate class and collective action lawsuits since 2007. He was recognized as one of SuperLawyers Magazine's Rising Stars in the New York Metropolitan area in both 2013 and 2014, based on peer and expert recommendations. From 2015 to 2022, he was consistently named to the SuperLawyers list for seasoned attorneys. Chris previously served as the chair and vice-chair of the Labor and Employment Committee at the Nassau County Bar Association. Prior to establishing his own firm, Chris worked on notable cases involving consumer fraud and wage theft. He was part of the trial team that secured two significant jury verdicts amounting to $37 million and $50 million on behalf of a class of 150,000 Avacor users. In a wage theft case against Ruby Tuesday, Inc., the court mandated sending notice to over 82,000 current and former bartenders, servers, and food runners. Since founding his firm in 2013, Chris has taken on leading roles in various certified class action lawsuits. In 2020, he successfully obtained court approval for a $7,140,000 settlement against Call-A-Head, a port-a-potty company, on behalf of its portable toilet service technicians. That same year, he secured an $11,000,000 settlement for workers at a chain of discount stores in New York.
