Biography
Defending individuals against government prosecution and supporting the rights of the accused is the passion that drives Jacob V. Hudnut (Jake) in his legal practice. Before joining Spar Bernstein, Jake operated his own criminal defense firm for six years, representing over 500 individuals facing felony charges. He has a track record of successfully litigating cases in front of juries, delivering favorable outcomes for his clients. Additionally, he served as a public defender in Jersey City, offering guidance to numerous individuals charged with misdemeanors and traffic violations. Jake's legal journey commenced as a Special Assistant to a Commissioner at the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, collaborating with influential figures in the business and governmental sectors. Upon receiving his law degree from Seton Hall Law, he was appointed as a law clerk to the Honorable Peter J. Vazquez, the Presiding Judge of New Jersey's largest criminal division. Jake attributes his strong sense of compassion and unwavering commitment to justice to the values instilled by his parents from a young age.
