Biography

Maria is a Partner at Youngman & Morse, PLLC, specializing in Family and Matrimonial Law, as well as Education/School Law. Before co-founding her own practice, Maria worked as a lawyer at Nave Law Firm, PLLC, where she now serves as an Of Counsel Attorney. Maria has extensive experience representing parents and grandparents in Family Court cases in New York State concerning custody, visitation, and child support issues, adoptions, juvenile delinquency, family offense and domestic violence, as well as child abuse and neglect proceedings. Maria also advocates for parents and educators facing investigations by the Office of Children and Family Services, handling administrative appeals from indicated findings and reports. She is proficient in drafting martial separation agreements and handling both contested and uncontested divorce proceedings in New York State Supreme Court. Additionally, Maria is well-versed in various Education and School Law matters. Maria earned a master's degree in law from Trinity College Dublin at The University of Dublin, where she focused on globalization and the law; contemporary issues in international law; European Union competition law; Islamic law; comparative product liability; and international trade law. She received her law degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law, graduating magna cum laude, in Hamden, CT.
