Biography

Mr. Carden previously worked as a Deputy District Attorney at the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office in Syracuse, NY, where he was responsible for overseeing cases involving alcohol-related driving offenses and the unlawful sale of alcohol to minors. In this role, he managed a diverse caseload comprising felony and misdemeanor charges related to driving under the influence, boating under the influence, snowmobiling under the influence, and aggravated unlicensed operation offenses. Mr. Carden has provided training for various legal institutions such as the Prosecutor’s Training Institute, District Attorney’s Office, County Magistrates Association, Syracuse University Moot Court Team, and Stop DWI Driver Improvement Program. Additionally, he spearheaded the Veteran’s Diversion Program at the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office, which focuses on addressing the unique needs of combat veterans within the criminal justice system while upholding community safety. Before his tenure in the DWI Bureau, he served in the Municipal Courts Bureau, handling arraignments, preliminary hearings, overseeing multiple courts, and managing the ridealong program in collaboration with law enforcement agencies. With a background in the United States Marine Corps infantry, Mr. Carden brings a wealth of experience to his legal practice. He obtained his law degree from the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond and completed his undergraduate studies at Christopher Newport University.
