Kaitlin Foley - Experienced New York Lawyer

Kaitlin Foley serves as the managing lawyer at The Colwell Law Group, having joined the firm in August of 2016. Ms. Foley graduated with honors from Albany Law School of Union University, situated in Albany, New York, in May 2016. During her tenure at Albany Law School, she held the position of Executive Editor of Research and Writing for Albany Law Review, served as the Family Law Associate on the Moot Court Board, and worked as a Teaching Assistant in Criminal Law under the guidance of Professor Vincent Bonventre. She is currently licensed to practice law in the state of New York and is an active member of the New York State Bar Association. Ms. Foley commenced her legal career at the New York State Office of the Attorney General, in the Health Care Bureau. In this role, she provided support to claimants throughout the complaint process, aiming to secure relief related to healthcare expenses and insurance disbursements. Following this experience, she worked as a law clerk for the Honorable Randolph F. Treece of the Northern District of New York through Albany Law School’s externship program. In this capacity, she authored legal decisions, conducted legal research, and contributed to the decision-making process. However, Ms. Foley's most significant legal internship was with a firm specializing in matrimonial and family law, where she developed a keen interest in this area of law. Her duties included legal research, document review, drafting legal documents, and attending court proceedings and meetings with her supervising attorney. Prior to enrolling at Albany Law School, Ms. Foley earned her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from The University at Albany, SUNY in 2012.
