Luigi Vigliotti - Profile

I am Luigi Vigliotti, a former prosecutor in the state of New York and an experienced trial attorney specializing in criminal law. My main area of focus is in criminal defense, particularly in cases involving DWI/DUI charges and other vehicular criminal offenses. Previously, I worked as a traffic prosecutor at 801 Axinn Ave (formerly 16 Cooper Street, Hempstead), handling a wide range of traffic cases from initial arraignment to trial proceedings. During my time at the District Attorney’s Office, I was part of the specialized DWI/DUI unit where I successfully litigated numerous vehicular cases, including those related to DWI/DUI, hit-and-run incidents, breath test refusals, and driving under the influence of substances. My duties also involved prosecuting various misdemeanor and felony cases, conducting multiple jury trials for both misdemeanor and felony offenses, overseeing pretrial suppression hearings, presenting felony cases to the Grand Jury for indictment, and managing a diverse range of criminal matters from start to finish. In 2008, I established my own law firm, concentrating on defending clients in all types of criminal cases and handling personal injury litigation. Furthermore, I am actively engaged in educating law students on trial advocacy and have been invited on several occasions to instruct at Hofstra Law School’s Trial Advocacy program.
