Matthew Dotzler is a co-founding member of Carden Dotzler Hammond, PLLC and leads the White Collar Defense division. His primary focus lies in criminal defense, DWI defense, and traffic defense, with a specialized emphasis on representing individuals facing white-collar crime allegations. Matthew frequently advocates for clients dealing with criminal, DWI, and traffic charges in Onondaga County Court, Syracuse City Court, and various other courts across Central New York. Additionally, he is a co-founder of The New York Traffic Ticket Lawyers, a legal practice committed to defending individuals accused of traffic violations ranging from minor infractions to DWI and Reckless Driving charges. Prior to his private practice, Matthew served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office for a span of seven years. During his tenure, he successfully handled numerous white-collar crime cases at the felony level in the Economic Fraud and Financial Crimes Bureau, including offenses such as embezzlement, forgery, identity theft, tax evasion, counterfeiting, and welfare fraud. Matthew also managed a diverse caseload involving misdemeanor and traffic offenses, including the prosecution of drug and narcotic-related crimes. His time at the District Attorney’s Office provided him with extensive trial experience and allowed him to collaborate closely with local law enforcement, forensic auditors, and financial institutions. Matthew obtained his Juris Doctor (J.D.) and Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
