Biography
Robert Cannon became part of Burner Prudenti Law, P.C. in November 2023 as a Senior Associate lawyer. Prior to his role at the firm, Robert was employed at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where he held the position of Managing Attorney and Project Director of the Robert and Priscilla Livingston Center for Children, Families, and the Law. During his time at Hofstra Law, Robert supervised the Center's extensive caseload involving Mental Hygiene Article 81 Guardianship and SCPA 17-A matters. Additionally, Robert served as the Faculty Administrative Editor of the Family Court Review while at Hofstra Law. Robert also imparts his knowledge as an adjunct professor at Hofstra Law, teaching the Guardianship 17-A Practicum. Between 2016 and 2020, Robert practiced at a reputable law firm on Long Island, focusing on Elder Law, Trust and Estate Administration, Estate Litigation, Special Needs Planning, and Estate Planning. In 2024, Robert was recognized as a Rising Star Attorney by Law & Politics, publishers of Super Lawyers magazines, based in Minneapolis. Originally from Scotland, Robert obtained his Bachelor of Laws and Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland. He relocated to New York in 2011 and completed his Master of Laws at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law. Robert is licensed to practice law in New York and is a member of the American, New York State, and Nassau County Bar Associations.
