Biography
John Troy serves as the Managing Attorney at Troy Law. He was accepted to the New York bar in 1989, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Eastern, Northern, and Southern Districts, and the Second Circuit Court of Appeals. Troy completed his studies at the National Chengchi University in Taiwan and the Dickinson School of Law in Pennsylvania. With a career spanning back to 1989, Troy has dedicated his legal practice to assisting the Flushing community with a wide array of legal matters, from simple transactions to intricate litigation cases. Under the leadership of Mr. Troy, Troy Law has grown to be recognized as a leading law firm specializing in representing plaintiffs in employment wage-and-hour disputes, both locally in New York and across the nation. Troy Law exclusively advocates for employees, particularly focusing on low-income immigrant workers, in cases related to wage-and-hour disputes and employment discrimination. Troy is a prolific writer on topics such as the Fair Labor Standards Act and New York Labor Law, specifically covering areas like minimum wage, overtime compensation, and record-keeping obligations. His commentary on the scandal involving Taiwanese representative Hsien-Hsien “Jacqueline” Liu's illicit employment of two Filipino maids was published in the China Times, one of Taiwan's major newspapers. Additionally, his insights on wage-and-hour regulations have been featured in the Sing Tao Daily, one of Hong Kong's prominent newspapers, and the World Journal, the largest Chinese-language newspaper in the U.S. Apart from his focus on employment law, Troy possesses significant expertise in Real Estate Transactions, Matrimonial Disputes, Incorporation, Bankruptcy, Wills, Commercial Litigation, and Personal Injury Litigation.
