Jerry takes pride in LPK's dedication to supporting families impacted by mesothelioma both inside and outside the courtroom. LPK is a prominent supporter of the Mesothelioma Applied Research Foundation (MARF) at the "Diamond Level," a non-profit organization striving for advancements in mesothelioma treatment and a cure. Additionally, LPK is a Silver Sponsor for the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO). Apart from achieving favorable settlements for clients nationwide, Jerry has achieved significant jury verdicts including: 2002 - Securing a $19.25 Million jury verdict in collaboration with Robert I. Komitor against manufacturers of hazardous asbestos products in a mesothelioma lawsuit. 2003 - Acting as lead trial counsel in a groundbreaking mesothelioma case against manufacturers of asbestos-containing welding rods, resulting in a $6.65 Million jury verdict. 2004 - Winning a $22 Million compensatory verdict for two clients battling mesothelioma, marking the largest such verdict in the nation for an asbestos case that year. 2007 - Leading two mesothelioma cases resulting in a combined $9 Million jury verdict, the first asbestos verdicts in New York related to commercial cable, valves, and steam traps. 2008 - Serving as lead trial counsel in a mesothelioma lawsuit on behalf of a Navy boilerman aboard the U.S.S. Roan, securing a $5 million verdict. 2009 - Co-counseling in a mesothelioma lawsuit for a submarine yard worker, resulting in an $8 million jury verdict. 2010 - Leading a trial for a mother and son diagnosed with mesothelioma, obtaining over $1.7 Million in compensation for the surviving family members. Beyond his legal accomplishments, Jerry is a respected lecturer and has spoken at national conferences on subjects such as Jury Trial Tactics and Asbestos Litigation. He also served on the faculty of Emory School of Law's Trial Techniques Program in 2007. In addition to his expertise in asbestos litigation, Jerry is recognized for his work in tobacco litigation, serving as lead trial counsel in the first tobacco case tried in New York County (Manhattan). Jerry has been featured in the 2005-2012 editions of Best Lawyers in America for Mass Torts and has been honored by Super Lawyers in New York City. He has also earned a place on the National Trial Lawyers Top 100 List. Prior to joining LPK in 2001, Jerry gained valuable experience representing large corporate defendants in complex lawsuits at an international law firm.
