As a partner at Levy Phillips & Konigsberg, LLP, Robert I. Komitor is a distinguished attorney with expertise in products liability, negligence, and personal injury cases related to mesothelioma, hazardous wastes, and pollution. Recognized as one of the leading attorneys in mass torts, Bob has been honored as one of the top legal professionals in the nation by Gregory W. Smith and Steven W. Naifeh's The Best Lawyers in America 2005-2012 (Woodward/White). With a track record of securing some of the highest damage awards in the country, Bob has consistently demonstrated his exceptional trial skills.
Bob's notable achievements include his role as the trial lawyer in the prominent "New York Powerhouse" mesothelioma cases and the consolidated Brooklyn Navy Yard litigation, which led to the largest mesothelioma compensation awards in the U.S. for 1991 and 1992, according to The National Law Journal. In 1993, Bob, along with LPK partner Moshe Maimon, secured New York State's largest mesothelioma compensation for that year. He continued to excel in his field by obtaining two of the highest compensatory verdicts for mesothelioma in New York State in 1996 and 2003.
Bob's academic background includes a Master's Degree in Marine Environmental Sciences from Stony Brook University's Marine Sciences Research Center and a law degree from Hofstra University School of Law, where he served as an editor at the Hofstra Law Review.
