Biography

Lissett Costa Ferreira is a partner and head of the Elder Law & Special Needs and Family & Divorce Law practice divisions at Meenan & Associates, LLC, a specialized civil litigation law firm. Lissett's primary focus is aiding individuals in navigating and preparing for significant life transitions, such as separation, incapacity, and end-of-life arrangements. Her key areas of practice encompass guardianships; estate, long-term care and special needs strategizing; trusts and estates; Medicaid and supplemental need trusts; divorce and family law concerns; as well as pre- and post-marital agreements. Lissett commenced her career in private practice in 2013, following almost ten years of public service as a chief court counsel to a New York State Supreme Court justice overseeing matrimonial and subsequently Article 81 guardianship cases. She is an alumnus of Fordham University School of Law, achieving the order of the coif, Brown University, and Hunter College High School, and a former recipient of the Fulbright Scholarship. Within the New York Women's Bar Association, Lissett holds positions as Corresponding Secretary; co-chair of the Elder Law & Disabilities committee; and participant in various committees. Apart from her roles as a member of the Small Law Firms and Legal Issues of the Aging committees at the New York City Bar Association (NYCBA), Lissett leads a NYCBA Lawyer's Networking Group.
