Biography
John C. Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea and moved to the United States in 1971 at the age of five. Raised by parents who owned businesses in Baltimore, Maryland, he is proud to identify as both Korean and American, embracing the best of both cultures. With close to two decades of experience as a highly regarded attorney, he specializes in debt resolution and dispute resolution across various practice areas for individuals and businesses. Since 1999, he has been practicing law in New York City, serving clients in all boroughs as well as Federal Courts in New Jersey. The law firm he established in 2005 has handled numerous straightforward and complex cases for individuals and businesses, including matters related to divorce, immigration, real estate, bankruptcy, debt negotiation, and business restructuring. Collaborating with trusted legal partners, the firm also manages intricate medical malpractice and personal injury cases. John obtained his J.D. from Boston University School of Law, where he served as an editor for the APALSA News. He completed his B.A. with a dual major in English Literature and Japanese Language at Boston University, College of Liberal Arts. A member of the Brooklyn Bar Association and NACBA (National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys), he is admitted to practice law in the State Bar of New York and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Having lived in Brooklyn for more than 15 years, he is deeply dedicated to the diverse communities of New York City, particularly in Brooklyn and Queens. As an immigrant's son himself, John focuses his legal practice on offering competent and compassionate representation to these often overlooked communities.
