Kiyam Poulson was born to James and Sharon Poulson in Rockville Centre, New York. During his youth, Kiyam and his parents relocated to the diverse, working-class community of Freeport, New York. Following his graduation from Freeport High School as the class President, Kiyam gained acceptance to The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics with a specialization in Entrepreneurial Management. While at Penn, Kiyam was recognized as one of the University's Top 100 Cultural Elite members. Subsequently, he obtained his Juris Doctorate from Hofstra University School of Law in Hempstead, New York. Upon being admitted to the New York State Bar, Kiyam also received admission to Federal practice in the Eastern, Southern, Northern, and Western Districts of New York. Kiyam has served as a Managing Associate at several prominent New York foreclosure firms, where he successfully presented oral arguments and secured victories on appeal in the Appellate Division, Second Department.
