Preet Kaur Chhabra - Profile

Raised in the dynamic city of New York to Indian parents, I was immersed in a diverse array of cultural encounters. New York's multicultural ambiance taught me to embrace variety and treasure the multitude of customs coexisting harmoniously. My academic journey in the U.S. commenced at Nassau Community College, where I earned my A.A. Degree. Motivated by a zeal for distinction, I was privileged to be awarded the Presidential Transfer Scholarship to St. John’s University, where I attained my B.S. degree in Criminal Justice. During my tenure at St. John's, I excelled academically, graduating Summa Cum Laude and securing a spot on The National Dean's List. Driven to pursue a career in law, I furthered my studies at St. John’s University School of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctor degree in 2010. My legal training not only equipped me with the requisite skills but also instilled in me a dedication to honesty, fairness, and community service. Upon commencing my legal career, I initially specialized in Collection law. However, I soon realized my genuine passion lay in Immigration Law. In 2014, I took a courageous leap and founded my own law firm, Preet Chhabra, P.C., concentrating exclusively on immigration matters such as marriage-based and family-based green cards, as well as naturalization petitions. Looking forward, I am enthusiastic about broadening my practice and aiding more individuals in navigating the intricacies of immigration law. My goal is to offer clarity and assistance to clients seeking to sponsor their loved ones or embark on the journey to citizenship.
