With more than nine years of experience in corporate law, Ian Herrick has served as in-house counsel for established and growing technology companies, provided legal counsel to startups, software development companies, and software developers, and worked as an associate at a prominent law firm in New York City. His expertise covers a wide range of areas in the tech industry and intellectual property law, including:- representing various companies such as an online social media company, a global automotive business, and an online real property rental company in matters such as large-scale software development projects and drafting website agreements and nondisclosure agreements,- negotiating collaborative research and licensing agreements with renowned universities across borders, - engaging in negotiations with multinational medical device and pharmaceutical companies regarding intellectual property disclosure and monetization, and- representing a research and development company before the USPTO to secure patent protection for the company.Mr. Herrick has also represented numerous software development companies and developers in negotiations related to independent contractor agreements and subcontractor agreements. During his tenure as an associate at a prominent New York City law firm, he contributed to the representation of private equity funds in a “credit bid” acquisition of a prominent fine china manufacturer, as well as a hedge fund during its liquidation and transfer of $2 billion in assets to a private equity fund.With nearly five years of experience in computer programming and a deep understanding of online security, Mr. Herrick recently provided expert testimony in an international arbitration case involving contractual breaches and intentional misconduct by a software developer and system administration, resulting in a substantial arbitration award.
