Biography

With a focus on matters related to Debtors and Creditors, Commercial Arbitration and Litigation, Enforcement of Judgments and Collections, Bankruptcy Reclamations and Preferences, and International Legal Affairs, I maintain strong relationships with clients on a national and global scale. Drawing from over three decades of legal practice, I have managed a diverse range of high-profile and routine litigations and arbitrations. My educational background includes a B.A. from Northwestern University, studies in Ancient Greek Philosophy at the City University of New York, and a Master’s in Modern European Philosophy from The New School for Social Research, New York in 1983. I obtained my J.D. from Cardozo Law School in 1986. I am a prolific writer and speaker on various Legal topics such as "Enhanced Debtor Liability in Fraudulent Conveyances", "Expanding Jurisdiction for Suits Against Foreign Entities Online", "Effective Litigation Strategies", "Bankruptcy Litigation Risks for Lenders", "Strategic Analysis for Legal Success", "Pitfalls in Litigation", "Evaluating Arbitration in Contemporary Legal Contexts", and "RICO Applications in Creditor Cases". Explore my latest contributions at linkedin.com/in/davidrelkinlaw or www.relkinlaw.com. In a groundbreaking legal precedent, I successfully secured an extension for Creditors to challenge fraudulent conveyances up to the commencement of Arbitration proceedings, allowing recovery of salary and loan repayments from involved parties. This landmark ruling, delivered by the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, established a widely accepted provision under UFTA and New York's Debtor and Creditor Law. Since 2004, I have operated in private practice, following roles as a partner at Duane Morris, a prominent global law firm, from 2000 to 2004, General Counsel and Executive Vice President at Import/Export Commodities Corporation from 1998 to 2000, a partner at Kreindler & Relkin, P.C. from 1987 to 1998, and service at the New York County District Attorney's Office in the Repeat Offender's Bureau in 1986.
