I earned my degree from the MGIMO (University) Law School - Moscow State University of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia, between 1988 and 1993, and hold a Master's Degree in Russian Civil, Commercial, and Private International Law. My additional educational pursuits include advanced legal studies at MGIMO University, assisting as a professor from 1993 to 1996, and advanced studies of Private International Law and International Commercial Arbitration in Europe at Uppsala University Law School, Sweden, in 1994. My legal practice in New York, established in 2004, focuses on Russian Business Law, Russian Civil Law, Private International Law aspects, Contract Law, overseas investments, and International Litigation and Arbitration across EU countries, Russia, and other former USSR nations. I aid in the establishment of companies and business ventures in EU countries, providing comprehensive on-ground support. During my tenure at the Moscow Law firm "Besedin Avakov Tarasov & partners" from 1995 to 2005, my work primarily revolved around Russian Commercial Law, Private International Law, both domestic and international litigation and arbitration. I counseled U.S. and European investors on equity acquisition in Russia, taxation, profit repatriation, domestic and international business contracts, and various transactions. My law firm was endorsed by the U.S. Embassy and its Trade section as the recommended legal advisor for U.S. clients in Russia.
