Biography
WAYNE N. OUTTEN serves as the Chair and Co-Founder of Outten & Golden LLP. He held the role of Managing Partner from the establishment of the firm in 1998 until the conclusion of 2018. Specializing solely in the representation of individuals in various employment law matters, Mr. Outten jointly leads the firm’s Executives and Professionals as well as Whistleblower Retaliation Practice Groups. His primary focus is on advocating for high-ranking employees and professionals across all facets of their employment, including the negotiation of employment terms, compensation packages, and severance agreements. He wrote the “Representing the Executive” section in the book Executive Compensation (BNA Books). His expertise extends to guiding employees in diverse international employment settings, such as expatriate and seconded employees. Among Mr. Outten’s significant cases are a successful recovery exceeding $12 million in a federal court gender discrimination/retaliation lawsuit against Morgan Stanley, an $18.9 million arbitration victory in a breach of contract dispute with Deutsche Bank (in collaboration with partner Larry Moy), and a remarkable $71.5 million arbitration win involving a profit participation plan against another global bank – potentially one of the largest arbitration awards in an employment context (in partnership with Larry Moy and Tammy Marzigliano). In 1993, Mr. Outten played a pivotal role as a Co-Founder of Workplace Fairness, a nonprofit organization dedicated to workplace education and advocacy, where he currently serves as President. Additionally, he is a Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the Lawyers International Network for Employees and Executives (LINEE).
