Biography

Meet Michael S. Pollok, a highly esteemed attorney with a top AV Peer Review rating. My legal practice is dedicated exclusively to criminal law, representing clients in various courts throughout New York at the local, state, and federal levels. I have a strong track record of successfully defending individuals against a diverse range of criminal charges, including those related to driving under the influence. From negotiating plea deals and handling complex motions to conducting bail hearings, trials, and appeals, my services encompass a wide spectrum of criminal defense strategies. I specialize in addressing warrants, pursuing post-conviction remedies like habeas corpus, navigating regulatory criminal inquiries, representing clients in professional licensing hearings, seeking relief from civil disabilities, and pursuing expungement proceedings. Additionally, I assist clients in mitigating the collateral consequences of criminal convictions, such as minimizing the risk of deportation for non-citizens and DACA recipients. Previously, I was an associate at Barrett, Gravante, Carpinello & Stern, LLP (now merged with Boies, Schiller and Flexner, LLP) in New York City. During my tenure, I handled white-collar criminal defense cases, appellate litigation, and complex civil matters, including representation in investigations involving financial institutions. I also contributed to the Criminal Justice Act panel for the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and served on various pro-bono legal panels. Following my experience at Barrett, Gravante, Carpinello & Stern, LLP, I established my own successful solo practice before affiliating with reputable law firms as "of counsel." Presently, I practice law in Kingston and Red Hook, New York, focusing exclusively on criminal defense and traffic violation cases in the Hudson Valley region.
