Biography

Attorney Harris is the creator and lead counsel at Harris Law, PLLC. With more than 25 years of legal expertise, she has handled a diverse range of cases from initiation to trial in the New York courts and facilitated numerous settlements. Formerly a Partner at Heidell Pittioni Murphy & Bach, LLP (HPM&B), she oversaw the firm's employment law division and defended prominent medical facilities in intricate medical malpractice and products liability litigations, as well as managed risk and regulatory affairs. Attorney Harris primarily focuses on advocating for plaintiffs in matters concerning employment discrimination, intricate personal injury claims, and cases involving wrongful death. She also represents clients in business disputes, professional liability litigations, and Surrogate's Court proceedings. Moreover, she has provided legal representation to specific members of the United States Congress in the "Ground Zero" litigation following the 9/11 attacks at the United States Court of Appeals for The Second Circuit. Drawing on her successful representation of both plaintiffs and defendants in various legal matters, Attorney Harris possesses an invaluable insight into how institutions and insurance providers evaluate liability and damages, how juries perceive cases, and the key elements leading to the successful resolution of cases, whether through settlement or trial. Attorney Harris is licensed to practice in the State of New York, as well as the Southern and Eastern Districts of the Federal Court in New York. Additionally, she is admitted to the United States Court of Appeals, Second Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. She graduated from Mount Holyoke College in 1983 and obtained her law degree from Columbia University School of Law in 1986.
