Biography
Melissa Sue Doris became a part of Burner Prudenti Law, P.C. in February 2020 as a Senior Associate lawyer. Before joining the firm, Melissa accumulated more than ten years of experience at a well-known Long Island Trusts and Estates legal practice. Her extensive expertise lies in Estate Planning, Trust and Estate Administration, Taxation, Elder Law, Special Needs Planning, and Residential Real Estate, which are the focal points of her legal work. Melissa was acknowledged as a notable figure in Elder Law and Trusts & Estates in Setauket, NY, in the 2024 and 2025 editions of The Best Lawyers in America: Ones to Watch. Melissa earned her Bachelor's degree from Stony Brook University in 2005 and graduated with honors from Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center in 2010. Melissa was previously an active volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Association. She contributed to the establishment of the annual Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s in Yaphank from 2015 to 2020. Melissa remains deeply involved in this cause, driven by her personal experience with dementia within her own family.
