Biography
Ronald E. Stiskin is dedicated to supporting families and individuals during times of change. Whether advocating for educational resources for children with unique needs, strategizing for the future of incapacitated adults, or assisting seniors and their loved ones in determining their next course of action, Ronald is devoted to steering his clients towards favorable outcomes. Ronald has completed training through the American Bar Association focusing on Advance Directives and Estate Planning for LGBTQ+ Adults. He has also received training in Elder Law mediation. Ronald E. Stiskin earned his degree from Harvard University in 1986 (B.A. with distinction in Sanskrit and Indian Studies) and from Dalhousie Law School, Nova Scotia, Canada in 1991 (LL.B.). He was admitted to the Nova Scotia Bar in 1993 and to the New York State Bar in 1996. He is an active member of the New York State Bar Association, as well as the Trusts and Estates, Real Property, General Practice, and Elder Law sections. Additionally, he holds membership in the New York City Bar Association, the Rockland County Bar Association, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and the Council of Parent Attorneys and Advocates (COPAA). With over three decades of experience as a meditation practitioner, instructor, and mentor, coupled with a background in counseling, Ronald brings wisdom and empathy to all his interactions with clients. He is involved in the Contemplative Lawyers Group of the New York City Bar Association. Alongside his legal practice, Ronald has dedicated numerous years to non-profit development, focusing on securing public and private funding for special education initiatives.
