Biography

Terence J. Ricaforte hails from the neighborhood of Bay Ridge in Brooklyn. Following the completion of his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Manhattan College, he went on to obtain his Juris Doctorate from New York Law School. Since 2008, Terence has focused his legal practice on Elder Law, Estate Planning, Probate and Estate Administration, Estate Litigation, Medicaid Planning, Real Estate, Tax, and Business Succession Planning. Mr. Ricaforte embarked on his legal career as a practicing attorney at the Miami Dade State Attorney's Office. He advanced to the role of Assistant State Attorney in 2006, where he prosecuted a range of misdemeanor and felony cases, handling over 15 jury trials and numerous bench trials. Subsequently, Mr. Ricaforte decided to return to his roots in New York to be closer to his loved ones. Leveraging the litigation and trial expertise honed during his tenure as an Assistant State's Attorney, he carved out a specialty in Estate Litigation. Mr. Ricaforte has successfully managed jury trials, contested probate proceedings, administration and accounting disputes, discovery matters, contested power of attorney cases, fraudulent transfer issues, tax disputes, and contested real estate affairs. His comprehensive experience in estate and elder law litigation uniquely positions him as a skilled estate and elder law strategist, equipped to navigate the complexities that may arise. In his free time, Mr. Ricaforte volunteers as a Mentor for the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program and actively participates in fundraising initiatives for the American Heart Association. He is recognized as an accredited attorney with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and holds membership in the New York State Bar Association.
