Biography
After graduating from St. John's University School of Law in 1984, Gerard Glass began his legal career at the Suffolk County Attorney's Office. Later on, he was elected to the Suffolk County Legislature, where he represented the 13th Legislative District encompassing Lindenhurst and Babylon. Despite being the youngest member of the Legislature at the age of 26, Mr. Glass assumed leadership of the majority caucus. In 1987, he became the managing partner at Glass, Lazio & Glass, which was eventually renamed Glass & Glass in 1992 following Rick Lazio's election to the U.S. House of Representatives. In 2018, Gerard Glass & Associates was established with Mr. Glass as the managing partner.
Specializing in residential and commercial real estate transactions, estate planning, probate administration, business transactions, landlord/tenant issues, civil litigation, and land use and zoning matters, Gerard Glass represents a diverse range of corporate and individual clients. With over 35 years of experience as an attorney, he has successfully managed numerous real estate and business transactions. Mr. Glass has served as the general counsel for the Village of Lindenhurst for more than three decades and as special counsel to the Village of Port Jefferson. He also held the position of general counsel for the Village of Babylon from 2017 to 2021 and has acted as special counsel for the Villages of Amityville and Mastic Beach.
A member of the New York State and Suffolk County Bar Associations, Gerard Glass is licensed to practice in all New York State Courts, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He holds a Martindale Hubbell peer review rating of "BV Distinguished, 4.4 out of 5," signifying that he meets "very high criteria of General Ethical Standards."
