Biography

Regina provides guidance to clients in the fields of Probate, Estate & Trust Administration, Estate Planning, Contested and Uncontested Guardianship matters, Will Disputes, Contested Financial Reporting, and Special Needs Planning. In pursuit of this, Regina: Creates estate planning paperwork (ranging from simple to intricate), such as Wills, different Trusts (e.g.: Revocable, Irrevocable, Life Insurance, Charitable, and/or Personal Residence), and Advance Directives; Drafts Petitions for Probate and/or Estate Administration to aid fiduciaries in acquiring Letters Testamentary, Limited Letters Testamentary, Letters of Administration, or Letters of Administration, C.T.A; Guides fiduciaries (e.g.: executors, administrators, trustees, and guardians) on the management and taxation of their (or their ward’s) estates; Counsels trustees and trust beneficiaries on the management and taxation of trusts; Advocates for family members in kinship proceedings to establish their entitlement to inherit property; Represents individuals in disputed and undisputed guardianship proceedings; Represents individuals in estate and trust litigation, encompassing will disputes, turn-over proceedings, and contested financial reporting; Counsels individuals on elder law concerns, including evaluating existing care plans and long-term care insurance policies, and evaluates the potential for Medicaid planning (community and institutional); Advises disabled individuals and their family members on special needs planning; Engages in negotiations with NYC Human Resources Administration to minimize or eliminate various “Medicaid claims”.
