Daniela F. Henriques started her legal career at Leav & Steinberg in 2002. Driven by her passion to advocate for the seriously injured, she worked as a paralegal at the firm while pursuing her law degree full time. She earned her J.D. from New York Law School in Manhattan, graduating with honors. She was honored with the Legal Ethics Award by the New York State Bar Association. Upon transitioning to a lawyer at the firm in 2005, Ms. Henriques continued to handle various aspects of case investigation, client and witness interviews, drafting and overseeing pleadings, arguing appeals and motions, conducting pre-trial examinations for both plaintiffs and defendants, court appearances, and trial preparation. In 2012, Mrs. Henriques took on the role of managing attorney at the firm, becoming a partner in 2013. She has been recognized in Super Lawyers magazine as a New York Metro Rising Star for the years 2013, 2014, and 2015. Ms. Henriques specializes in legal research, analysis, and writing. Her keen insights into supporting or defending specific legal arguments have made her a valuable asset in assisting trial attorneys and successfully winning motions and appeals. Due to her exceptional research and analytical skills, Ms. Henriques is frequently called upon to prepare and present pre-trial motions related to labor law claims, municipality and premises liability, as well as motor vehicle accident cases. Since joining Leav & Steinberg, she has handled appeals in both the Second and First Departments of the Appellate Division. Ms. Henriques’s proficiency in arguing the application of facts to applicable laws often results in favorable judgments, negating the need for liability trials. Her strong opposition to dismissal motions has also thwarted defendants’ efforts, ensuring the inclusion of liable parties in settlement negotiations for plaintiffs.
