Gary Certain - Profile

Gary Certain is a partner at the personal injury and civil rights law firm of Certain & Zilberg, PLLC. With a wealth of experience, Mr. Certain has successfully handled numerous cases and secured substantial awards for his clients in the areas of products liability, personal injury, and civil rights. His advocacy has led to the removal or redesign of unsafe products, as well as improvements in safety procedures and law enforcement practices. Mr. Certain is widely recognized as a skilled and dedicated advocate, having received accolades such as being named a Super Lawyer and receiving the New York Magazine’s Leader in The Law - Million Dollar Circle award. He is also a member of the National Trial Lawyers Association's "Top 100 Plaintiffs’ Trial Lawyer" and has been honored with the "Top 100 Black Lawyer" award by the National Black Lawyers Association. He obtained his law degree from the Georgetown University Law Center in 1993 and graduated with honors from Niagara University. During his time at Georgetown Law, Mr. Certain honed his advocacy skills by representing indigent clients in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia. Following law school, he served as a New York City Assistant District Attorney, where he gained a reputation for his vigorous advocacy, professionalism, and integrity. Since transitioning to private practice in 1996, Mr. Certain has focused on litigating cases involving serious injuries, wrongful death, construction accidents, defective products, civil rights violations, and police misconduct.
