Biography
Robert R. Miller is a lawyer at Lax, Neville & Intelisano, LLP specializing in securities, employment, and corporate disputes within the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (“FINRA”), the American Arbitration Association (“AAA”), and both state and federal courts. His practice involves representing individual investors in disputes against brokers, broker-dealers, and wealth managers for various customer sales practices, such as fraud, churning, unsuitability, and breach of fiduciary duty. He also assists brokers and financial services professionals in a wide range of issues, including firm transitions, disputes over deferred compensation, promissory notes, Form U-5 expungements, and employment agreements. Furthermore, Robert handles cases for broker-dealers, financial services firms, and shareholders in corporate and contract disputes, particularly focusing on defending bankruptcy clawback actions related to victims of the Bernard L. Madoff Securities Ponzi scheme. In addition to his specialization in these areas, Robert also has extensive experience in general commercial litigation, dealing with matters such as contracts under the Uniform Commercial Code, asset- and equity-based business sales, non-competition agreements, partnership disputes, oil and gas conflicts, bad faith claims, fraud cases, and construction disputes. He has litigated construction disagreements involving public contracts, surety and bond matters, and owner-engineer-contractor conflicts. Robert graduated from New York University School of Law, where he served as an editor for the Journal of Law and Liberty and worked as a research assistant for Professor Eleanor Fox, a renowned expert in US antitrust and international competition law.
