Biography

I worked as legal advisor for New York City Children's Services for approximately two years. During that period, I handled a significant caseload from start to finish. While representing New York State, I dealt with a variety of proceedings including hearings (before and after dispositional), motion practice, trial procedures, and issues subject to appeal. I am also a part of the Assigned Law Guardian Family Court Panel in Queens County. I served as Assigned Counsel for the Second Department Appellate Division under the "18B panel" (18B pertains to the New York County Law governing indigent defense). Besides my expertise in child abuse and neglect matters, I possess substantial knowledge in cases involving custody, child support, juvenile delinquency, termination of parental rights, and visitation. Additionally, I have practical experience and a strong grasp of Administrative law, specifically in claims against New York City and New York State under Article 78 related to unemployment insurance. Furthermore, I am well-informed in divorce law, social services law, agency law, and constitutional law.

Professional Memberships and Involvement: I am a member of the New York Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, American Bar Association (and registered blawger), Brooklyn Bar Association, and Queens Association. I am actively engaged in the Family Law/Child Welfare, Civil Liberties/Rights, and Small Firms committees for the New York County Lawyer's Association. I am also a member of the New York Civil Liberties Union where I have presented on students' privacy rights and have judged two mock trial competitions.
