Biography
Lawyer Stuart Meissner was born in 1962 in Brooklyn, New York. He obtained his Bachelor’s and Juris Doctorate degrees from Hofstra University. He later pursued a masters of law degree from New York University Law School. In 2001, he established his own law firm, Meissner Associates, in Manhattan, New York. His practice primarily focuses on cases involving SEC whistleblowing, investment disputes, securities violations, and FINRA arbitration. Following the events of 9/11, Mr. Meissner volunteered at Ground Zero, working alongside fire and police officers in search and rescue efforts. Unfortunately, he was later diagnosed with cancer resulting from his time at Ground Zero, a battle he successfully overcame. Stuart Meissner played a pivotal role in the creation of the SEC Rules and his insights are referenced in the footnotes of the regulations. He was among the first legal professionals to submit an SEC Whistleblower tip and continues to represent whistleblowers reporting to the SEC. Additionally, he offers legal counsel to investors who have fallen victim to fraud by brokers and brokerage firms, as well as to Wall Street employees facing exploitation. He has a strong track record of successful cases against major financial institutions like Citizens Securities, Morgan Stanley, Wells Fargo, and UBS. In addition to his work with whistleblowers, Mr. Meissner is available for defense representation in criminal cases, regulatory matters, and overseeing internal corporate investigations mandated by regulatory bodies. His diligent efforts have resulted in substantial awards and settlements for his clients, including a historic $22 million award in 2016 for a whistleblower in the Monsanto case, one of the largest whistleblower awards ever granted. Prior to his current practice, Stuart Meissner served as a state prosecutor and practiced law, and also ran as an independent candidate for the U.S. Senate.
