Biography
Richard D. Cirincione specializes in estate planning, estate administration, estate litigation, guardianship law, and related appeals. His focus includes crafting strategies for individuals with significant assets, such as establishing charitable planning mechanisms. He has expertise in establishing and managing family entities and has facilitated sales to defective grantor trusts. Richard manages all aspects of estate and trust administration, including preparing estate tax filings and fiduciary financial statements. With a wealth of experience in estate-related disputes concerning Wills and Trusts, Richard has represented clients in Will challenges, both in defense of a purported Will and in opposition to a Will. He has also advocated for clients in cases involving the interpretation and revision of Wills and Trusts. Additionally, he is involved in producing estate and trust financial statements and representing clients in contested financial statement proceedings. Richard has extensive experience litigating in various Surrogate’s Courts throughout New York State. He frequently serves as a speaker at continuing education events for the Trusts and Estates division of the New York State Bar Association. He holds an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell® and has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America® since 2013 and Super Lawyers® since 2015. Richard has been with the firm since 1993 and became a partner in 2002. He previously led the Trusts, Estates, & Elder Law practice group at the firm before being appointed one of the firm’s two managing partners.
